LIBERTY, MO – The Liberty Police Department apprehended a man in connection with a deadly accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon, reports WDAF.
The incident happened in the vicinity of La Frenz Road and Ruth Ewing Road, where police responded to the scene at about 2:30 p.m.
An investigation found that a woman was standing outside a disabled vehicle on the northbound side of La Frenz Road when she was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck going south. The woman, identified as 20-year-old Savanna Churchill of Liberty, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the driver of the Ram left the scene on foot but was taken into custody several blocks away. Potential charges are pending in the crash, which remains under investigation.
