According to the MSHP’s accident log, the incident took place on US 50 west of NW 601st Road at about 4:10 p.m.
State troopers said a 17-year-old girl was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram west on US 50 and overtook another vehicle traveling in the right lane. The Ram began to skid, went off the left side of the roadway into the grassy median, and started to overturn. As it continued to overturn, the vehicle traveled into the eastbound lanes of US 50, went off the south shoulder and hit a guardrail.
The driver, a resident of Camdenton, Missouri, was transported by Lifeflight Eagle to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City to be treated for serious injuries. The vehicle was totaled and towed away from the scene.
