News: Scooter rider critically injured in collision in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – An accident in Kansas City on Friday afternoon sent a scooter rider to the hospital with critical injuries, according to a report by KMBC.

 

Police responded to the scene in the area of 9 Highway south and Admiral Boulevard after the incident happened shortly before 3 p.m.

 

Investigators said a scooter was going south on 9 Highway at an elevated rate of speed and tried to change lanes near Admiral Boulevard.

 

The scooter then struck the passenger side of a Ford Fusion and the back of a Jeep Cherokee.

 

The scooter rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was hospitalized in what was reported as very critical condition.  The drivers of the Ford and the Jeep were not injured.
