News: Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle on Prospect Avenue in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A collision on Prospect Avenue in Kansas City claimed the life of a pedestrian late Saturday night, police said.

 

WDAF reports officers responded to the scene near 33rd Street after the incident was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m.

 

An investigation indicated that a woman was walking across Prospect Avenue from west to east and was in the middle of the roadway when she was struck by a northbound Dodge Charger.  The victim, identified as 31-year-old Maurshay Brown, died after being transported to an area hospital.

 

Police said the Dodge driver stopped immediately after the collision and stayed at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.
