KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are trying to find the driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian critically injured, the Kansas City Star reports.

The crash happened Sunday night in the 2400 block of Jackson Avenue in the city’s East Community Team South neighborhood.

Police officers arriving at the scene at about 8:30 p.m. found that a pedestrian walking in the street had been struck and dragged by a dark colored SUV.  The victim was transported to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition.

Investigators said the driver who struck the pedestrian continued north on Jackson Avenue after the incident without stopping to help, and is now being sought.  Anyone with further information was asked to contact Kansas City police.
