News: Motorcyclist killed in collision with vehicle in Kansas City Northland

KANSAS CITY, MO – A collision in the Northland area of Kansas City Friday night left a motorcycle rider dead, WDAF reports.

 

Officers were dispatched to the scene in the vicinity of NE Parvin Road and N Belmont Avenue after being notified of the incident at about 5:45 p.m.

 

An investigation found that the driver of a car was heading eastbound and making a turn from Parvin Road onto Belmont Avenue when the vehicle was hit on the passenger front fender by a westbound motorcycle. 

 

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police said.  The driver of the car was not injured.

 

Police are continuing to investigate the crash and said it does not appear that the driver of the car was impaired.
