INDEPENDENCE, MO – An accident in Independence on Saturday afternoon claimed the life of a motorcyclist, police said.
According to WDAF, the victim was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson on Interstate 70 at Interstate 470 when the incident occurred at about 3:10 p.m.
Investigators said the driver lost control of the motorcycle and crashed on I-70 west. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. No other vehicles were involved.
Independence police are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the wreck.
