News: Man injured when motorcycle goes off road, flips near Liberty Triangle

LIBERTY, MO – A motorcyclist was injured in an accident on Interstate 35 in Clay County on Thursday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

 

According to the MSHP’s accident report, troopers arrived at the scene in the area of northbound I-35 and Highway 152 south of the Liberty Triangle.

 

Investigators learned that 23-year-old Dillon A. Pankey of Independence was operating a 2005 Honda VTX 1300 C motorcycle northbound at about 12:05 p.m. when he lost control of the bike, which veered off the road to the left and flipped over.

 

Pankey was taken by ambulance to Liberty Hospital with what were described as moderate injuries.
