News: Man critically injured after being struck by car on Interstate 70

KANSAS CITY, MO – An accident on Interstate 70 in Kansas City on Monday night left a man with life-threatening injuries, reports the Kansas City Star.

 

The victim was struck by a vehicle on I-70 near East 23rd Street shortly before 11:30 p.m.

 

A police investigation indicated that the man ran out onto the highway, and the driver of a westbound Ford Focus was unable to avoid hitting him. The man was hospitalized in critical condition.

 

The driver told police he initially thought he had hit a deer, but after stopping the car he found it was a person.
