KANSAS CITY, MO – A high-speed crash in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday afternoon claimed the life of a motorist, KCTV reports.
The wreck took place in the vicinity of 47th Street and Appleton Avenue, where police and emergency crews were dispatched at about 1:25 p.m.
An initial investigation determined that the driver of a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV was speeding east on 47th Street, drove off the right side of the roadway and went through a drainage ditch. The Chevrolet flipped several times and crashed into an unoccupied Ford F-150 that was parked in a driveway.
The SUV driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The victim, whose name was not released, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which occurred near Kansas City Fire Department Station 39.
