KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said a pedestrian was struck by two vehicles in Kansas City early Thursday morning, one of which left the scene.
According to KSHB, a woman was standing on Independence Avenue near Indiana Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. when she was hit by a westbound Toyota 4Runner.
The impact sent the woman into the eastbound lane, where she was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle did not stop to help, and was last seen heading east on Independence Avenue.
The pedestrian was hospitalized with what were reported to be life-threatening injuries. Police are searching for the driver of the second vehicle.
