News: Driver killed in 2-car crash on U.S. 50 east in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A driver was killed in a crash on U.S. 50 in Johnson County Monday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

 

According to the MSHP crash report, 75-year-old Dennis L. Miller of Kingsville was driving a 2005 Hyundai Elantra on U.S. 50 east shortly before 6:30 p.m when he crossed the eastbound lanes of the highway at County Road Northwest 1601.

 

The Hyundai entered the path of a Ford F-250 pickup truck, causing a collision. The Hyundai went off the roadway, struck a light pole and overturned. The Ford also went off the roadway, overturned and struck a traffic sign.

 

Miller, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 49-year-old Jeffrey Davis of Knob Noster, sustained minor injuries.

 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
