News: Driver injured after crashing into DOT light pole in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A motorist was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash in Kansas City Tuesday morning, police said.

 

KSHB reports the accident took place in the vicinity of U.S. 40 and Interstate 435 west at about 7 a.m. According to Kansas City police, the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe was headed west on U.S. 40 at a high rate of speed and failed to complete a turn.

 

The vehicle started to slide and then crashed into a Missouri Department of Transportation light pole before entering a median and rolling over.

 

The driver, who sustained critical injuries, was taken to an area hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
