KANSAS CITY, MO – Police were dispatched to the scene of a fatal rollover accident in Kansas City on Saturday afternoon.
The Kansas City Star reports the crash occurred in the area of 63rd Street and Hardesty Avenue.
An investigation indicated that the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox was going west on 63rd Street at a high rate of speed at about 5:20 p.m. The driver was unable to navigate a curve and went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then hit a concrete drainage culvert and overturned.
The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, who was not wearing a seat belt. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the wreck.
