News: Driver dies after crashing into tree near Brookside Boulevard

KANSAS CITY, MO – A single-vehicle accident in Kansas City on Thursday night left the driver dead, reports WDAF.

 

The incident occurred near Countryside Park, in the area of Brookside Boulevard and East 53rd Street.

 

According to investigators, a man driving a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling at high speed shortly before 10 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle.  The Cobalt went off the left side of the roadway and crashed into a large tree.

 

The driver was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, police said.

 

The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
