KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police said a high-speed collision left two men dead and three children hospitalized on Wednesday night.
According to KSHB, the fatal wreck took place in the area of Raytown Road and Blue Ridge Cutoff at about 9:40 p.m.
Investigators said a man was driving a Kia Forte at high speed while going south on Blue Ridge Cutoff. When the driver of a Ford Focus attempted to turn left from Blue Ridge Cutoff onto Raytown Road, the Ford was hit by the Kia.
The Ford driver, who was ejected from the car, and the Kia driver were pronounced dead at the scene. Police said neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time.
Three juveniles who were passengers in the Ford sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, and were taken to an area hospital. They were all listed in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
