CLAY COUNTY, MO – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Clay County early Wednesday morning, state troopers said.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident log, the incident took place on US 69 southbound at Summersette Road A at about 5:41 a.m. Investigators said the driver of a 2014 Ford Escape failed to yield for a 2017 Toyota Tundra at the intersection, and the vehicles crashed.
The driver of the Escape, 71-year-old Charity Adams, and her passenger, 71-year-old Craig Adams, were transported to Liberty Hospital by EMS. The woman was seriously injured while the man suffered moderate injuries. Both are from Kearney, Missouri.
The driver of the Tundra, 63-year-old Patrick Burke from Excelsior Springs, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital.
