News: Collision involving stolen vehicle in Kansas City injures 3

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police said the driver of a stolen vehicle caused a wreck that left three people injured on Tuesday night, WDAF reports.

 

The accident happened in the vicinity of College Avenue and East 39th Street. According to police, the driver of a stolen Kia Rio was heading north at a high rate of speed shortly after 7 p.m. and failed to stop at a stop sign. The Kia collided with a westbound Toyota Sequoia, causing the Toyota to go off the road and into a chain link fence.

 

The Kia continued going southwest and crashed into an unoccupied Toyota Corolla parked in the driveway of a nearby home, with the impact pushing the Corolla forward into a garage door.

 

The driver of the Kia was seriously injured and transported to an area hospital. The driver and passenger in the Sequoia were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
