News: Collision at Johnson County intersection leaves 4 injured, 1 seriously

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a collision in Johnson County on Friday left four people injured, one seriously.

According to a report by KSIS, two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Highway 50 and NW 501st Road at about 3:15 p.m. The MSHP said 43-year-old Damon Dunlap of Paris was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix southbound when he failed to yield to a westbound Ford Fusion at a stop sign, and the Ford hit the side of the Pontiac.

Dunlap was transported to Research Medical Center with serious injuries. A 70-year-old female passenger in the Ford, Lorraine Carter, suffered moderate injuries, while another female passenger, Paisley Bentzinger, and the 67-year-old driver, Darrell Carter, sustained minor injuries. Those three, all residents of Warrensburg, were taken to Western Missouri Medical Center.

The Ford had extensive damage and the Pontiac was totaled, troopers said.
