News: Child critically injured in Kansas City hit-and-run incident

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police are trying to track down the driver who struck a child in Kansas City last week, according to the Kansas City Star.

 

The victim, reported to be under 10 years old, was critically injured and taken to the hospital after being hit by the vehicle on Wednesday at about 4:45 p.m.

 

Investigators said the incident took place after the child ran out in the street in the area of Oakland Avenue and 33rd Street. The driver involved fled the scene without stopping to help, police said.

 

The vehicle police are looking for was described as a white van, though no details were available on the make and model of the vehicle.
