KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are investigating a multi-vehicle accident that left a passenger critically injured.
A report by KCTV states the driver of a Honda Civic was going south on Broadway at a high rate of speed Saturday night when the crash happened at about 10:30 p.m.
Police said the driver of the Honda was not able to maintain his lane of travel near 39th Terrace and crashed into the rear of a parked car, a GMC Terrain. The impact caused the GMC to hit the back of a parked GMC Yukon, causing the Yukon to hit a parked Nissan Rogue.
A 26-year-old man who was a front-seat passenger in the Honda was hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the Honda was not injured. No one was inside any of the parked vehicles.
Investigators are trying to determine whether driver impairment was a contributing factor in the crash.
