KANSAS CITY, MO – One person was killed in a collision at a Kansas City intersection on Saturday night, KCTV reports.
Police said two vehicles were involved in the accident in the area of West 67th Terrace and Ward Parkway at about 9:30 p.m.
Investigators determined that the driver of a Volkswagen was headed north on Ward Parkway when a GMC pulled into the intersection and the Volkswagen driver could not stop in time.
The vehicles collided, causing the GMC to flip and then hit a light pole. A rear-seat passenger in the GMC was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the GMC and a front-seat passenger were seriously injured and hospitalized. The Volkswagen driver and a passenger were not injured.
