INDEPENDENCE, MO – A multi-vehicle accident during a traffic stop Monday morning left two people injured, including an Independence motorcycle officer.
KCTV reports the accident happened after the officer had pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on the shoulder of 291 Highway northbound near 23rd Street. Another vehicle that was headed north at about 10 a.m. crashed into the officer’s motorcycle as well as the vehicle that had been stopped, according to police.
The officer and one of the drivers involved sustained minor injuries in the collision.
