CLAYCOMO, MO – Five people were injured when their vehicle was involved in an accident in Clay County on Friday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The MSHP’s crash report said the incident occurred along Interstate 435 northbound at mile marker 54.6.
State troopers said the 20-year-old driver of a 2005 Toyota Sienna drove off the left side of the roadway at about 6:35 a.m. and struck a cable barrier. Following the impact, the car returned to the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on its top.
Five men in the car, ages 20, 23, 24, 27 and 42, suffered minor injuries. All are residents of Raytown, Missouri. The five were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene. The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the Claycomo Police Department.
