News: 4 injured in Kansas City crash after driver goes through red light

KANSAS CITY, MO – Four people were injured, one critically, following a wreck in Kansas City on Sunday night.

 

WDAF reports two vehicles collided at the intersection of Blue Ridge Boulevard and 79th Street.  A police investigation determined that the driver of a Honda Odyssey was traveling at a high rate of speed on Blue Ridge Boulevard and went through a red light.  The Honda struck a GMC Envoy going west on 79th Street.

 

The driver of the GMC was critically injured while a front seat passenger and a juvenile back seat passenger sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.  The Honda driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  All four were taken to the hospital.

 

Kansas City police are trying to determine whether impairment was a contributing factor in the crash
