JACKSON COUNTY, MO – Three people were injured in a collision in Jackson County on Thursday evening, state troopers said.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report said the incident happened on Route H at East Pink Hill Road.
According to the MSHP, the driver of an eastbound 1997 Chevrolet failed to stop at a posted stop sign at about 7:07 p.m. and pulled into the path of a 2023 Ford headed north. The Chevrolet then overturned and the driver was partially ejected.
The driver, 30-year-old Christopher Smith of Lexington, Missouri, was seriously injured and taken to Research Hospital.
The driver of the Ford, 60-year-old Kenneth Seitz, was seriously injured while his passenger, 61-year-old Kelly Seitz, sustained moderate injuries. The two, residents of Napoleon, Missouri, were both transported to Centerpoint Hospital. The two occupants of the Ford were wearing seat belts while Smith was not, state troopers said.
The MSHP was assisted at the scene of Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Oak Grove police.
