KANSAS CITY, MO – A car accident in Kansas City Thursday afternoon left two women dead and another hospitalized, reports KSHB.
Kansas City police said a 28-year-old woman was driving at high speed at about 5 p.m. when she lost control of her Buick Lucerne, drove off the street and collided with a tree. The wreck occurred on westbound East 63rd Street near Jackson Avenue in the vicinity of Swope Park.
The car flipped after hitting the tree, causing a front seat passenger and a back seat passenger to be ejected. The driver and the back seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The second passenger was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident, and said none of the occupants were wearing their seat belts.
