News: 2 injured in crash after driver goes through stop sign at Missouri 92

CLAY COUNTY, MO – State troopers said two people were injured, one seriously, in a collision in Clay County on Wednesday afternoon.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report, the incident occurred in the area of Missouri 92 and Plattsburg Road.

 

The MSHP said the driver of a 2005 Ford F-150 was heading north on Plattsburg Road at about 3:35 p.m. and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. The Ford struck an eastbound 2020 Buick Encore.

 

A passenger in the Buick, 51-year-old Claudia Grimes, was seriously injured and taken to North Kansas City Hospital. The driver of the Buick, 49-year-old Jay D. Grimes, sustained minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. Both are from Kansas City, Missouri.
