News: 2-car crash in Kansas City leaves driver, passenger seriously injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said three people were injured, two seriously, in a two-vehicle collision in Kansas City on Tuesday night.

A report by KCTV states that a Ford Taurus and a Chrysler were involved in the crash in the area of North Church Road and NE 82nd Terrace at about 3:30 p.m.

According to investigators, the driver of the Taurus pulled out onto North Church Road after waiting at a stop sign on NE 82nd Terrace.  The Taurus was struck by the southbound Chrysler, which police said may have been going at high speed.

The impact caused the Chrysler to go off the road, hit a metal light pole, overturn and catch fire. Police said all four occupants in the Chrysler got out of the car and three of them left the scene. The Chrysler driver was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver and passenger in the Ford were seriously injured and rushed to an area hospital.
