KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police said a pickup truck driver was killed in a collision on Interstate 435 on Wednesday afternoon.
According to KSHB, the incident happened on I-435 northbound in the area of Eastwood Trafficway at about 1:30 p.m.
An investigation indicated that a Mack semi-truck with a trailer had stopped in a lane on I-435 north after encountering a mechanical issue. The driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was headed north in the same lane slammed into the back of the semi.
The driver of the pickup, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was not injured.
The accident shut down three northbound lanes of I-435 while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
