JACKSON COUNTY, MO – One driver was killed and another injured when their vehicles were involved in a wreck in Jackson County on Friday.
State troopers and the Oak Grove Police Department were called to the scene on Route F at Corn Cemetery Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s accident report.
An investigation found that the driver of a 2008 Honda CRV was heading south at 5:14 p.m. and slowed down to make a left turn. The driver of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was following too closely and crashed into the rear of the Honda. The impact caused the Honda to collide with a northbound 2024 Kia Seltos.
The Honda driver, a 73-year-old woman from Oak Grove, Missouri, was pronounced dead after being taken to Centerpoint Medical Center. The Kia driver, a 63-year-old Oak Grove woman, was taken to the same hospital with moderate injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
