News: Multi-vehicle crash on I-29 north of Tiffany Springs leaves 4 injured, 1 seriously

PLATTE COUNTY, MO – A multi-vehicle accident in Platte County sent four people to the hospital recently, the Platte County Landmark reported.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to the scene Aug. 29 at about 5 p.m. on Interstate 29 just north of Tiffany Springs.  State troopers learned that the driver of a 2018 International bus struck the rear of two vehicles, a 2018 Nissan and a Volkswagen Tiguan. The impact caused the Volkswagen to rear-end a Toyota RAV4.

 

The Volkswagen driver, 42-year-old Kelli K. McGlothlin of St. Joseph, Missouri, was taken to North Kansas City Hospital with serious injuries. The Nissan driver, 26-year-old Roxana M. Perez Lara of St. Joseph, was transported to the same hospital with minor injuries. Two boys in the bus, ages 13 and 14, were taken by private vehicle to Children’s Mercy with minor injuries.

 

No injuries were reported for the bus driver, 70-year-old Carlton C. Lyon of Platte City, Missouri, and the Toyota driver, 39-year-old Dustin D. Guest of Kansas City.

The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the Platte County Sheriff’s Department and the Kansas City Police Department.
