News: Head-on collision on Parvin Road kills both drivers, injures passengers

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police said a head-on collision between a van and an SUV on Sunday night left both drivers dead.

 

KCTV reports the incident took place along Parvin Road at about 8:20 p.m.  The investigation by the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department found that the driver of a Mitsubishi Outlander was heading east at a high rate of speed and crossed over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic.

 

The Mitsubishi collided with a westbound Ford Transit van.   The Mitsubishi driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Ford driver died after being taken to an area hospital.

 

Two juvenile passengers in the Mitsubishi were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.  An adult passenger and an unknown number of juvenile passengers in the van were reported to be in stable condition at a hospital.

 

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the wreck.
