KANSAS CITY, MO – A motorcycle rider was critically injured in a crash in Kansas City on Saturday night.
A report by WDAF states that a police officer initially attempted to stop the operator of a Honda Nighthawk motorcycle in the area of Independence Avenue and Lawndale Avenue but the rider refused to stop.
Investigators said the motorcyclist then started going north in the southbound lanes of Lawndale Avenue, a one-way street. The motorcycle was struck at an intersection by a BMW 328I shortly before 11:30 p.m.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and rushed to an area hospital. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said. The BMW driver was not injured.
