KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver has passed away from injuries suffered in a collision in Kansas City earlier this month, the Kansas City Star reports.
The accident happened June 7 in the vicinity of Troost Avenue and 83rd Terrace at about 7:49 a.m.
Police said the driver of a Chevy Silverado was headed north on Troost Avenue at a high rate of speed and swerved to get around a Honda making a turn. The Chevy driver locked up his brakes, drove into southbound traffic on Troost and crashed into a GMC Terrain at the intersection with 83rd Terrace.
The impact sent the GMC into a metal utility pole, while the Chevy flipped onto its side. Kansas City police said the driver of the GMC, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the hospital late Friday night.
The driver of the Chevy was seriously injured in the wreck and was hospitalized.
