News: Pickup truck driver dies after colliding with tractor-trailer on I-70

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO – A driver died after colliding with a tractor-trailer in Lafayette County on Tuesday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
 

The MSHP said the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was heading east on Interstate 70 when the crash occurred shortly after 10 p.m. The pickup truck slammed into the towed unit of a 2017 Freightliner at the 45 mile marker on I=70, and the Chevrolet driver was ejected.

 

That driver, identified as 45-year-old Kurt Probst of Fillmore, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said. No other injuries were reported.

 

The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, the Higginsville Police Department, and the Odessa Police Department.
