News: Driver seriously injured in collision with truck on Missouri 13

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A driver was seriously injured when her car collided with a semi-truck in Johnson County on Thursday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

 

The accident happened on northbound Missouri 13 south of County Road NE 600 at about 2:07 p.m., according to the MSHP’s crash log.

 

State troopers said the driver of a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix was headed south when the car began to skid and crossed the center of the roadway.  The front of a northbound 2008 Peterbilt 389 truck hit the rear passenger side of the Pontiac.

 

The driver of the Pontiac, 29-year-old Cayleigh Clouse of Clinton, Missouri, was seriously injured and airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia.  She was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.  The other driver was not injured.

 

Both vehicles were damaged and towed away from the scene.
