KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people were critically injured when their vehicle crashed at a store parking lot in Kansas City Tuesday night, police said.
According to a KCTV report, the incident occurred at a Home Depot on east Linwood Boulevard, where police were called to the scene shortly before 7:30 p.m..
Kansas City police said their investigation found that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling at high speed while going south through the parking lot. The pickup crashed through a fence behind the store, went down an embankment and overturned.
The driver and a passenger were critically injured and transported to an area hospital. Police said neither victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
