News: Pedestrian struck, killed by pickup truck in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Johnson County on Monday night.

 

In its crash report, the MSHP identified the victim as 26-year-old Kyle Pitts of Warrensburg, Missouri.

 

The accident occurred at 8:41 p.m. on southbound Business Missouri-13, south of Private Drive 150th Road.
According to state troopers, the driver of a 2015 Ram 1500 observed Pitts in the roadway and attempted to swerve but struck him.

 

The victim was pronounced dead after being taken by Johnson County ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center. No injuries were reported for the driver involved, a 19-year-old Warrensburg, Missouri woman.
