News: Multi-vehicle collision on I-35 in Clay County leaves 2 injured

CLAY COUNTY, MO – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Clay County on Tuesday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

 

The crash happened on Interstate 35 southbound at about 2:35 p.m., according to the MSHP’s accident log.

 

State troopers said a 2005 Ford Focus struck the rear of a 2017 Honda RJ5, then hit the rear of a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser. The Honda ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a sign. The Chrysler went off the left side of the road and hit a cable barrier, while the Ford went off the right side of the roadway.

 

The driver of the Ford, 44-year-old Robert Hooks of Kansas City, Kansas, and the driver of the Honda, 22-year-old Alexa Frisbie of Kansas City, Missouri, both sustained minor injuries and were transported by the Kansas City Fire Department to North Kansas City Hospital. All three vehicles were towed away from the scene.
