News: Man facing charges over Clay County crash that killed motorcycle rider

SMITHVILLE, MO – One man is dead and another is facing charges after their vehicles collided in Clay County last month, reports WDAF.

The accident happened September 25 near the Smithville Dam, where a car struck a man riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, 34-year-old Donald Hundley of Kansas City, died from his injuries four days later. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver of the car, Jason Kissick, has been charged with second-degree assault and is also being investigated for driving while intoxicated, authorities say. The man was in jail and was due in court on Tuesday.
