News: Hit-and-run driver sought in Kansas City crash that killed pedestrian

KANSAS CITY, MO – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on a Kansas City highway Sunday morning, police said.

 

The incident took place on Interstate 435 between 87th Street and East Gregory Boulevard sometime before 8:47 a.m., according to KCTV.

 

The victim was struck by a vehicle heading northbound and was knocked into a grassy median. No information was released on the identity of the pedestrian.

 

A passing motorist notified police of the incident. Investigators determined that the driver involved left the scene afterwards. Kansas City police said the vehicle they are searching for will have heavy front end damage, but did not yet have a more detailed description.
