WARRENSBURG, MO – A motorcyclist died following a collision with a pickup truck in Johnson County on Thursday night, state troopers said.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, the incident took place on U.S. 50 near NE 501 Road east of Warrensburg at about 9:15 p.m.
The MSHP said 48-year-old Ira J. Baldwin of Sedalia was driving a 2012 Honda motorcycle westbound on U.S. 50 when he hit the back of a 2001 Nissan Titan.
Baldwin was ejected from the motorcycle, which went off the left side of the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the Nissan, 41-year-old Ered Jackson of Warrensburg, was transported to an area hospital with what were reported to be moderate injuries.
