News: Motorcyclist killed in collision with semi-truck on MO-13 in Warrensburg

WARRENSBURG, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a semi-truck in Johnson County Tuesday afternoon.

 

The MSHP’s crash report said the accident occurred on MO-13 Highway near SE 300 Road at about 2:10 p.m. State troopers said 52-year-old James Slavens of Lee’s Summit was driving a Honda motorcycle north on the highway when he drove into the path of a southbound Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by 44-year-old James Chapman of Fort Scott, Kansas.

 

Slavens was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other injuries were reported.

 

The MSHP was assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and the Warrensburg Police Department.
