News: 2 injured in car accident on Highway 23 in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports two people were injured in a car accident in Johnson County on Tuesday afternoon.

 

In its crash report, the MSHP said that the incident took place in the area of Highway 23 and Highway E at about 3 p.m.

 

Troopers said 55-year-old Jon M. Church of Sedalia was driving a Toyota Sienna southbound and was making a turn at the intersection when his vehicle was struck by a northbound Nissan Maxima.

 

The driver of the Maxima, 56-year-old Michelle M. Daniels, suffered moderate injuries. Her 15-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries. The two, who are residents of Concordia, were taken to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

 

The Toyota had extensive damage, while the Nissan was totaled.
